On 14 and 15 October, the periASTY consortium met in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the project’s second General Assembly, hosted by the Regional Development Agency of Ljubljana Urban Region and Nomago. It was the consortium’s first in-person gathering since the kick-off meeting in February, and a welcome opportunity to reconnect, exchange on lessons learned and review the progress made since the project began.

Partners shared updates from the nine Living Labs, where periASTY is demonstrating a range of solutions, called periInnovations, in mobility, energy, industry and governance to integrate peri-urban areas into Europe’s decarbonisation transition. The discussions covered the latest developments in the periInnovations, as well as the first co-design workshops, which mark an important step in shaping solutions together with the people who will use them.

To end the first day, partners went on a site visit in the city centre. This gave them the chance to see sustainable mobility solutions in the host city first-hand. The group visited the Ljubljana Passenger Centre and learned about the integrated micromobility options available in the city, including Nomago e-bikes, BicikeLJ bikes and Kavalir electric vehicles.

On the second day, partners went through the latest communications, dissemination, and cross-pollination, and exploitation updates, reviewing progress and aligning on the next priorities. Partners also took part in an interactive workshop on the project’s cross-fertilisation and replication activities. Each Living Lab reflected on its journey so far, shared unexpected lessons and common challenges, and proposed good practices. Partners also suggested topics they would like to explore further in future exchanges. This helped ensure that lessons from each Living Lab can be shared with, and adapted by, other peri-urban areas across Europe.

Stay tuned for more updates and follow periASTY on LinkedIn to be the first informed.
